In the surf community we have been utilizing google earth to search for new surf breaks for the past few years with major success. Recently I started searching the OC area and have found some really sick runs to bomb, and even some hidden gems that can only been seen from above. Type in google earth, then your city and scroll around till you see some hills. Usually green and less populated areas. Use the controls on the upper right of the page and see what you're really looking at. You can check from above, then come down to ground level and see what type of angles you're looking at. If you want to see exactly how fast elevation drops, follow over the road with the pointer, and down in the bottom left corner it will display the exact elevation to the foot. Compare that to a hill you're familiar with by measuring how many feet it drops in a 1 inch span, 2 inch, or entire top to bottom feet. Check out Maryhill and compare, now train. Once you find the perfect spot, call me...haha. You can get directions (to here) from your address and scope it out for yourself. If it's good, photo it, name it and let everyone drool. Hit me up with directions though..lol. Good luck, and helmet up.
